I’ve been trying to keep my internet policing to a minimum in the last few months but I feel this song is worth diving into. 

I’ve had a serious fear of becoming ‘irrelevant’ and ‘uncool’ since I first started to play music in my early teens, at the age of 16 I promised myself I’d always understand (or at least try to understand) what the younger generation considered to be good. There’s a band on Epitaph Records called Falling In Reverse and they’ve seriously tested my ability to understand what the fuck other people are thinking.

I will try not to judge them by their appearance, which is an excellent copy of a bad Motely Crue tribute band, or their constant references to being a ‘Rock and Roll’ band although in Canada they’d be closer musically to Hedley than say… The Constantines. 

Today I will only judge them based on a few lines from their song, “Good Girls Bad Guys”.

Thanks Shakespeare! You fucking idiot. The saddest part about this is that the majority of this Rockstar Supernova reject band’s fanbase are girls. Is this how our generation is supposed to be remembered? A bunch of idiotic lyrics by a group of half-wits who are trying to find the easiest path to the idiot masses? Whether it’s this song or a Nickleback song about prefering your woman on her knees I’d like to think we deserve better than this. At least try and mask anal sex in a metaphor like ‘Whole Lotta Love’ did, man! There’s a lot of good pop music out there today, but there’s way more soulless, gimmicky crap than ever before.

Keep supporting the bands who give a shit.
