The Muppets, and my Muppets.
A few years ago I had some surgery that resulted in both my beautiful butt cheeks getting maimed and an overload of free-time. With that free time I did what any other sensible 23 year old male would do, I reignited my love for the Muppets and started making my own puppets (I also spent $40 on a Kermit shirt from Ebay). If making my own puppets wasn’t lame enough, I visited a Muppet...

Ben Folds
Here’s a couple live videos from some myspace session. Ben Folds is great. The rest of the videos from this are really good too. The third one is obviously my favourite. We did gang vocals for the record yesterday which I believe wraps up tracking. Things sound awesome. Short post this week. Hopefully next week I’ll have something more substantial. Maybe just some more drum...

LIAM GALLAGHER LIKES SPONGEBOB.

Sheryl Crow!
I remember the caliber of Top 40 in the mid 90s, sure there was still some shit on the radio and you can call me ‘old-fashioned’ but I’d rather listen to these songs any day of the week over Rihanna, Gaga, Cyrus, or Minaj. I do like most Katy Perry and Beyonce though, haha. - Peter

Dog (similar to this one) won't leave owner's...
Someone actually posted a video of their own dog under the guise of a dog in China hoping to hit the big times in Hollywood. The actual description of the video reads, “Dog similar to this one won’t leave owner’s grave in China”. Ahahaha, people are fucked. - Peter

I’ve had a couple weeks off due to the other guys recording their parts for the album, so with the extra time I have made it through 90% of “Scar Tissue” the Anthony Keidis biography. That guy lived a crazy life. Naturally it made me want to go back and listen to each album as I read about them making it in the book. Have to say, great band. Lots of  ups and downs during their 29...

STRANGE MERCY.
I’m sure St. Vincent’s new(ish) record will make it onto most indie critics Top 10 of 2011 lists, and I’d be inclined to agree with them.  I first heard St. Vincent when she released Actor a few years ago and I was immediately blown away by that record.  It was challenging, but not too challenging, heady in all the places it should be, simple in the places it needed to be. My...

WE'RE NOT THE ONLY ONES WHO LIKE WRESTLING.
Our buddy Konrad (drummer of Poor Young Things (who are recording their new EP with Jon Drew!)) sent this to our attention.  It’s amazing to think that WWF in the 80s put an emphasis on putting out music. Really funny but good chorus. - Jeff

Recording.
Sorry for my lack of posts the last couple of weeks. I have a bad habit of getting too involved in things and I’ve been spending most of my days recording. Thus far things are sounding really great and we should be done tracking by the end of next week. Although my appearance slightly resembles that of a mad scientist or crazy Russian author I’m actually feeling pretty good on the...

Here’s a classic. The Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich battle. Although, It’s not so much a battle as it is Buddy Rich ripping Gene to pieces. There’s a bunch of sick Buddy Rich videos around, you can look at Krupa ones but they are nowhere near as cool. I am obviously a fan of the rip. -Cam

NOEL GALLAGHER.
I got to see Noel Gallagher in concert at Massey Hall this past Monday and I gotta say… It was kind of boring.  It’s what I expected of Noel, I suppose, so I wasn’t really disappointed.  He played a good set-list with both new songs and old Oasis songs, but the energy was a little lacking.  But I suppose Noel’s in the position where he just needs to play his songs and sound...

MATT GOOD? MORE LIKE "MATT GREAT"!
First, I’ll take a moment to apologize for the terrible, terrible pun embedded in this blog title.  Secondly, I’d like to sincerely thank everyone who came out to the Horseshoe last night.  It was so good to see so many old and new friends alike as well as a bunch of people we didn’t know.  It was a nice show to play before heading in to record the new EP, for sure. The other...
